Teacher Portal:
A gateway for teachers to resources on the web

IEQ's portal website for teachers is designed to facilitate access to internet-based resources that can help strengthen primary school teaching practice in developing countries. Although we realize that many developing country teachers currently do not have direct access to the Internet, access is growing in most countries. Audiences for the portal teacher website include education policy-makers, developing country universities and teacher training colleges, education NGOs, parent-teacher organizations, and teachers themselves.

The website is organized around to a series of topics that are central to teaching and learning in a developing country environment, (e.g., student assessment, student health). Each topic provides annotated listings and electronic references to web-sites that offer relevant resources.

The listing and annotation for referenced websites is compiled by an experienced IEQ staff member. The composition of websites within each topic is designed to reflect a mix of both developing country-specific and universal sites. The annotation for each site also informs users of the technology required to download its information.
