    The Improving Education Quality (IEQ) project is a long-term investment by the U.S. Agency for International Development's Global Bureau (USAID) in providing assistance to participating host countries to improve quality of education. IEQ has three governing objectives:
  • to generate knowledge about the school and classroom experience of educators and students;
  • to use knowledge to inform government's dialogue concerning education policy and improve local practice; and
  • to develop an in-country capacity to monitor and assess educational results or outcomes.

    • One objective of the IEQ project is to share with other educational researchers a number of tested research instruments and the experience of IEQ researchers in using them. Most of the instruments posted here were developed during IEQI (1991-1997) and have been adapted to other research situations under both IEQI and IEQII (ongoing). Additional tools will be added to this site as research activities demonstrate their effectiveness.
